Nokia Asha 303

Nokia Asha was a series of mobile phones from the Finnish manufacturer Nokia that was sold from 2011 . Since 2014, the mobile phones as part of the acquisition were the devices and services division Nokia by Microsoft of Microsoft Mobile made. In July 2014, Microsoft announced that the Asha series and Series 40 would be discontinued.

The first cell phones of the model series were presented in October 2011 at Nokia World in London and all run with the in-house operating system Nokia Series 40 , while the Lumia series presented at the same time is operated with Windows Phone . The first Asha cell phones were characterized by the combination of touchscreen and keyboard and a low price.

With the exception of models 205 to 225, all new models were equipped without a keyboard from June 2012, i.e. model 230 and all model numbers from 305 upwards, whereby models 500 to 503 were expressly referred to as (“inexpensive”) smartphones in reports about them . For this purpose, the Nokia Series 40 operating system was equipped with a new Asha user interface, Nokia Asha software platform , which was developed starting with version 1.0 up to the last version 1.4.

Apps could be downloaded to the devices via the Nokia Store . Microsoft has recommended the Opera Mobile Store since the Nokia Store closed in November 2014. The original browser has been replaced by Opera Mini .
