features

The bees have a body length of 6 millimeters (females) or 5 to 6 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and have red markings. The tergites are predominantly red, partly black. The labrum is black and has a serrated transverse ridge on the front edge. The third antenna segment is just as long as the fourth. The scutellum is spotted in red. The rails ( tibiae ) of the hind legs are drawn out into a point at the end and have bristle hair and two or three thorns, which are difficult to recognize due to the thick hair. The males resemble the females. Their mandibles , cheeks and the front edge of the forehead plate and legs are spotted yellow. The antennae are black and much wider than the scourge. As with the females, the rails of the hind legs are drawn out to a point and provided with thorns.
