Nomada blepharipes is a bee from the family of Apidae .

features

The bees have a body length of 7 to 9 millimeters (females) or 6 to 9 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and have red markings. The tergites are red, the base on the first is black. The labrum is red and has a small tooth in front of the middle. The third antennae is longer than the fourth. The scutellum is red. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs have a blunt tooth at the end and several small thorns. In males, the body is black with yellow spots, the edges of the tergites are reddish, the labrum is yellow. The third antennae is just as longer than the fourth. The label has a yellow spot. The rails of the rear legs are drawn out to a blunt point at the end and have some small thorns. The heel phalanx (metatarsus) of the hind legs is widened and has a noticeable fringe of hair on the front edge.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is widespread in southern Europe. The animals fly in two overlapping generations from mid-May to mid-September. The species probably parasitizes Andrena hypopolia and Andrena cordalis .
