Nomada confinis is a bee from the family of Apidae .

features

The bees have a body length of 7 to 9 millimeters (females) or 6 to 8 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black with red markings. The tergites are predominantly red with yellow spots on the third tergite on the side and the center of the fifth tergite. The slightly saddled labrum is red and has a serrated transverse edge behind the front edge. The third antenna segment is much shorter than the fourth at the bottom. The scutellum has red spots. The Propodeum has thick, white fringes of hair up to the middle triangular area. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs have four small thorns of different lengths at the end. The heel phalanx (metatarsus) on the hind legs is black. The males have a black head and thorax with yellow markings. The tergites are basal black, their disc is yellow, whereby the yellow markings on the anterior tergites are more or less interrupted. The rear edges of the tergites are reddish. The slightly saddled labrum is yellow. The third antenna segment is much shorter than the fourth. The label has a yellow mark on it. The thighs ( femora ) of the hind legs are provided with a hair fringe at the bottom at the base. The rails of the hind legs are drawn out to a blunt point at the end and have a long bristle hair and several fine small thorns.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is widespread in southern Europe and Turkey. The animals fly at least at the end of June. In which species Nomada confinis parasitized is unknown.
