Nomans Land is a Viking metal band from Saint Petersburg . Her texts deal mainly with Germanic mythology and paganism.

history

Nomans Land was founded in the spring of 1996 in Saint Petersburg. In the beginning they mainly devoted themselves to Doom Metal , but in the course of the formation of the band the concept was changed to Viking Metal .

In the summer of 2000 the band recorded their first album Last Son Of The Fjord , which was released in the same year on Fono Records . Immediately after the release, the then drummer and bassist left the band, but were almost immediately replaced by Ainar (drums) and Hjervard (bass).

This was followed by a long period of appearances at local music festivals. From 2001 Nomans Land worked on the second album. In support of the band, Igor Pelechaty was invited to accompany the band on the keyboard. This collaboration produced 10 songs, which were recorded from the summer of 2002. With Wild the band had a singer at this time who was mainly responsible for screams and the like. During this time, Ilja Denisow supports the band as a keyboard player in live performances.

In the search for a new label for the next album Hammerfrost , Nomans Land finally found the German label Einheit Produktionen . At that time there were technical and creative arguments in the band, whereupon Wild left the band and Hjervard took over the vocal part. The success and positive reactions from Hammerfrost enabled the band to make their first international appearance in Essen .

In 2006, still at Einheit-Produktionen, the first album Last Son Of The Fjord was reissued and received a multimedia bonus. For the new album Raven Flight , Igor Pelechaty and Ilja Denisow - both on keyboards - were in the studio next to the band. Shortly after the recordings were over, Torvald left the band due to personal problems. Also in 2006 Nomans Land performed at the Ragnarök Festival Festival.

In 2008 Nomans Land released a split single with the Köthener Viking metal band Thrudvangar . The album Farnord followed in 2009 .

In 2013 Nomans Land played in the pagan village at the 22nd Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig.
