Antonio Ruberti

Antonio Ruberti (born January 24, 1927 in Aversa , † September 4, 2000 in Rome ) was an Italian politician and engineer. He was a member of the Italian government and the European Commission .

biography

In 1987 he became a member of the Italian Government as Minister for the Coordination of Scientific and Technological Research. He held his post until 1992. In 1993 he was nominated by the Italian government as a member of the European Commission. In the Delors III Commission , he was responsible for the education and culture department. He remained in office until 1995, during which time he completed a series of new initiatives including the Socrates and Leonardo da Vinci programs , the European Week of Scientific Culture and the European Science and Technology Forum. After leaving the Commission, he was elected to the Italian Parliament, where he was Chairman of the European Policy Committee .
