Raniero Vanni d'Archirafi

Raniero Vanni d'Archirafi (born June 7, 1931 in Geneva ) is an Italian diplomat .

In 1984 he became Italy's ambassador in Madrid and in 1987 in Bonn . In 1989 he became Italian Director General for Economic Affairs and in 1991 for Political Affairs. In 1992 he was sent to the European Commission by the Italian government . He took office in January 1993, when President Jacques Delors appointed him Internal Market Commissioner . In 1995 he gave up his position.
