Piero Malvestiti (born June 26, 1899 in Apiro , Macerata province , † November 5, 1964 in Milan ) was an Italian politician . He held various ministerial offices in the Italian government and was Commissioner of the European Economic Community and President of the European Coal and Steel Community .

Political party

He was one of the founders of the Italian Christian Democratic Party in 1942 when he merged his Movimento Guelfo d'Azione with the Italian People's Party.

Italian government

He was succeeded by Giuseppe Caron because Malvestiti became President of the European Coal and Steel Community in the Malvestiti Commission . He was president until November 1963.
