Norbert Bareis

Norbert Bareis (born January 17, 1958 in Horb am Neckar ) is a German TV editor and author.

Life

After high school and newspaper internship, Bareis worked as an editor for the regional newspaper Schwarzwälder Bote . In 1985 he switched to the then Süddeutscher Rundfunk in Stuttgart as a permanent freelancer . Since 1992 he has been the chief editor of today's Südwestrundfunk , most recently as editor-in-chief for the TV formats on Friday evening on SWR television . Among other things, he developed formats for SWR such as “Annette im Schlaraffenland”, “Tatjanas Tiergeschichten” and “Expedition to Home”, a regional travel report which (as of May 1, 2020) broadcast over 240 episodes, and oversaw numerous Special editorial projects, such as the nine-part documentary series “Aristocracy in the Southwest - The Next Generation”. Most recently, Bareis devoted himself to historical material, such as the five-part series “Legendary Southwest”, the 90-minute documentary “The year without a summer ” about the origins of the Cannstatter Wasen or the 90-minute documentary drama “Unknown Heroes - Resistance in the Southwest”.

Awards

As the editor in charge, Bareis and the production company AV Medien from Stuttgart twice won the "Golden Dolphin", the main prize at the "Cannes Coperate & tv awards" in the TV documentaries category for "Legendary Southwest" (2017) and "The year without a summer "(2019).
