Norbert Deuchert

Norbert A. Deuchert (* 1943 ) is a German historian . He was the head of the Villa Rot Museum for many years .

Norbert Deuchert studied history, philosophy, politics and art history and received his doctorate in modern history from the University of Tübingen in 1982. He worked on German cultural history and the history of art in Asia. Since 1989 he has developed the concept of the Museum Villa Rot with the guiding principle "Encounter of Cultures" and with the focus on Asian art. Until the end of 2007 he was director of the Museum Villa Rot and led the house to an international reputation. Today Deuchert works as a freelance curator and author.
