Norbert Diederich (born May 1, 1952 ) is a former German soccer player. In the GDR league , the second highest division in GDR football , he played for Dynamo Schwerin and Schiffahrt / Hafen Rostock in the 1970s and 1980s .

Athletic career

With the Police Sports Association Dynamo Rostock-Mitte , 19-year-old Norbert Diederich rose to the third-class Rostock district league in 1971 . He then moved to the GDR league for SG Dynamo Schwerin. There he played only nine of the 22 league games in the 1971/72 season. In 1972/73 he had already won a regular place with 17 league appearances, and in the two following seasons he completed all 22 games as a defender. If he did not score in his first two seasons in Schwerin , he scored nine goals in 1973/74 and was the top scorer of SG Dynamo as a defender. 1974/75 Dynamo Schwerin qualified for the league promotion round, but did not reach promotion. Diederich was used in all eight qualifying games and scored a goal after he had already scored twice in the league games. At the beginning of the first half of the 1975/76 season he played the first three league games, then he moved to league rivals Schiffahrt / Hafen Rostock.

At the Rostock team , Diederich was also used as a defender from the 11th matchday on and played another ten league games. In defense he was a regular player until the 1979/80 season and played 85 of 88 league games in four seasons. In 1980/81 he was initially used only six games in the first half of the season. After Schiffahrt / Hafen participated in the league promotion round after his relay victory, Diederich was used in two matches as a substitute. Since the team missed promotion, Diederich went into his seventh Rostock season in 1981. He only played in the first half of the season, in which he was called up seven times. For the season 1982/83 he was mentioned in the squad, but was not used. He appeared again in the GDR league season 1986/87, after the BSG Schiffahrt / Hafen started as a promoted team after their previous descent. Although Diederich did not appear in the photo of the district champion in the fuwo or in the published squad for the GDR league season 1986/87, at the age of 34 he played again twelve league games in the first half of the season.

He then finally ended his career in higher-class football. In twelve seasons he had completed 73 league games for Dynamo Schwerin and scored eleven goals. For Schiffart / Hafen Rostock played 120 times in the GDR league and scored nine goals. He was also involved twice in the league promotion round (eight games and one goal for Schwerin, two missions without a goal for Rostock).
