Norbert Weber (artist)

Norbert Weber (* 1943 ) is a German visual artist, gallery owner and curator.

Life

In 1980 Weber opened the NEMO gallery in Eckernförde to make artists and art from Iceland , Scandinavia and the Baltic states known in Germany. In the public space near the gallery, for example, there are works by artists such as Anneè Olofsson , Carsten Höller ("One Square Meter Blue", 1989), Sigurdur Gudmundsson and Mindaugas Navakas .

Weber has been running an Artothek since 1981 with around 1,200 graphics and is a founding member of the Artothekenverband Deutschland, which was founded in Eckernförde in May 2000. He is a member of the international expert committee for the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art.

• Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany , Cross of Merit on Ribbon, 2000
