The Norddeutsche Oelleitung is the name of a mineral oil pipeline in which mineral oil is transported from Wilhelmshaven to Hamburg . The pipeline is owned by Norddeutsche Oelleitungsgesellschaft mb H. (NDO) in Hamburg. It is operated by Nord-West-Oelleitung GmbH (NWO) in Wilhelmshaven.

During construction of the line, the special requirement had the Culverting of Jadefahrwassers be overcome.

task

The pipeline supplies the refinery of Holborn Europa Raffinerie GmbH (HER) in Hamburg, which has an average crude oil distillation capacity of 4.8 million tons. The starting point of the pipeline is the oil port in Wilhelmshaven, a deep-water port that even the largest tankers can call at when loaded. The North-West Oil Pipeline GmbH is the operating company for this line.

Technical specifications

The main line has an annual capacity of 11.5 million tons of crude oil, a diameter of 22 "(55 centimeters) and a length of 147 kilometers.

Shareholder

The NDO refinery and crude oil pipeline are wholly owned subsidiaries of Holborn Investment Company Ltd. which has been owned partially since 1991 and fully since 2002 by Oilinvest (Netherlands) BV , which operates under the brand name Tamoil in Europe and Africa. The company mainly processes Libyan crude oil.
