Hermann Bontjer

Hermann Bontjer (born April 30, 1939 in Moordorf , Aurich district ; † July 15, 2014 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Bontjer initially completed an apprenticeship in a lawyer and notarial practice and in the Lower Saxony financial administration. After seven years in the public service, he switched to the private sector. From 1967 to 1994 he worked at the Volkswagen plant in Emden .

Bontjer had been a member of the SPD since 1964, a member of IG Metall since 1967 and a member of the Workers' Welfare Association since 1992 .

Hermann Bontjer was deputy mayor of Moorhusen from 1970 until it was incorporated into Südbrookmerland in 1972 . From 1972 until his death he was a member of the municipal council of Südbrookmerland, from 1989 to 1996 mayor. Also until his death he belonged to the district council of the Aurich district and the regional council of East Friesland ; At times he was deputy district administrator of the Aurich district.

From 1990 to 2003 ( 12th , 13th and 14th electoral terms) Hermann Bontjer was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament , where he was active primarily in the committees for food, agriculture and forestry, urban development and housing, as well as budget and finance. In 2003 he lost the Aurich constituency to Wolfgang Ontijd (CDU).

In addition, he was deputy chairman of the Weser-Ems district of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt and a member of the supervisory board of the Lower Saxony Landgesellschaft mbH.

He was married and had three children.
