Wolfgang Ontijd

Wolfgang Ontijd (born March 8, 1937 in Borkum ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

After his secondary school leaving certificate, Ontijd joined the Lower Saxony state police in 1955 and was taken over by the criminal police in 1962. Until his election to the state parliament, he was head of various specialist commissariats in the Aurich Criminal Police Inspection .

He has been a member of the CDU since 1970 and is now honorary chairman of the Aurich CDU district association. He was a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament from 1990 to 2008 and has been secretary there since 2003. Ontijd announced in January 2007 that it would not run again for the state parliament.

From 1991 to 1996 he was mayor of the city of Aurich.
