The Nordenskjöld Basin is a lake basin in the Ross Sea off the Scott coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land .

The namesake of the name recognized by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF) in April 1980 is the neighboring Nordenskjöld ice tongue . It is named after the Swedish polar explorer Otto Nordenskjöld (1869–1928), who led the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) to explore the east coast of the Antarctic Peninsula .
