Nordic Agricultural Party

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A number of similar political parties in the Nordic countries are referred to as the Nordic Agricultural Parties , also known as Nordic Center Parties . It combines the support of small-scale agriculture, of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, decentralization or regionalization and the protection of ecology. The parties were originally pure peasant parties. As the number of farmers and thus the potential voters decreased, the parties expanded their programs from the 1960s and positioned themselves increasingly centrist . This was accompanied by the partial renaming of the center parties. Similar parties also exist in the Baltic countries .
