Northern Lapland

Northern Lapland ( Finnish Pohjois-Lappi , Northern Sami Davvi-Lappi ) is the name of one of six administrative communities ( seutukunta ) in the Finnish landscape of Lapland . It covers the sparsely populated north-east of Lapland. The municipalities of Inari , Sodankylä and Utsjoki belong to the administrative community of Northern Lapland . The three municipalities together have a population of around 17,500 inhabitants, with a total area of ​​35,108 km² that makes a population density of 0.5 inhabitants per square kilometer.
