Fjell Lapland
Fjell-Lapland ( Finnish Tunturi-Lappi , North Sami Duottar-Lappi ) is the name of one of six administrative communities ( seutukunta ) in the Finnish landscape of Lapland . It covers the extremely sparsely populated north-west of Lapland. The administrative community includes four municipalities, which together have a population of around 14,000. With a total area of 21,310.3 km², this results in a population density of just 0.7 inhabitants per square kilometer.
Fjell-Lapland is also often referred to as a large landscape of Lapland. This is not congruent with the official administrative community, but describes the northernmost part of Finnish Lapland, in which the Fjell vegetation predominates.
