Norica Nicolai
Norica Nicolai (born January 27, 1958 in Sinaia ) is a Romanian politician of the Partidul Național Liberal (PNL) and lawyer .
Life
Nicolai studied law at the University of Bucharest from 1979 to 1983 and was then a public prosecutor in Călărași until 1991 . From 1997 to 2000 she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity. From 2000 to 2008 she was a senator in the Senate of Romania . In her party, Nicolai was chairwoman of the women's association from 2003 to 2011. In 2007 she was elected deputy chairwoman of the PNL. Nicolai has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009 .
In 2002 Nicolai was awarded the Order of Merit with the rank of knight.
