Norman K. Denzin

Norman Kent Denzin (* 1941 ) is an American sociologist .

Life

Norman Kent Denzin graduated from the University of Iowa with a PhD in 1966. He is Professor of Sociology , Interpretative Theory and Cinema Studies at the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign. Denzin helped spread the concept of performative social science .

In 1988 he received the Cooley Award and in 1997 the George Herbert Mead Award .
