The Norrenberg is a 281 meter high ridge in the Barmer Forest in the Wuppertal districts of Heckinghausen , Heckinghausen and Hammesberg . The summit has served as a lookout point since the 19th century and is called Kaiser-Wilhelm-Höhe .

topology

The mostly forested ridge runs in a northeastern direction. The mountain is bounded in the west by the Murmelbach , in the north by the Wupper and in the east by Wupper and the Blombach . While the flanks drop steeply towards the waters in these directions, the terrain in the south-west only lowers slightly, only to then rise again to the Scharpenacker Mountains .

At the transition to the Scharpenacker Mountains lies the Konradswüsten district . While the mountain flank of the Murmelbach is uninhabited for nature conservation reasons, the districts of Hammesberg, Norrenberg , Plückersburg and Bockmühle are located on the flank of the Blombach and Wupper in the east . In the north, at the foot of the mountain, is the center of Heckinghausen with Gosenburg .
