The Norsälven (former name Frika ) is a river in the Swedish province of Värmland County .
It forms the outflow of the Nedre Fryken north of the Vänern . From there it flows over a distance of 28 km to Vänern . Its mouth is about 10 km west of Karlstad . The catchment area of the Norsälven covers 4174 km². Its source rivers Rottnan , Röjdan and Ljusnan are tributaries of the Mellan-Fryken and Övre Fryken, respectively . With the source river Ljusnan, the river system of the Norsälven reaches a length of 179 km.
