The Norsk Tindeklub ( NTK , German Norwegian Mountaineering Club) is a Norwegian association for mountaineers and expedition climbers, which was founded in 1908 by Ferdinand Schjelderup and Carl Wilhelm Rubenson, among others. It was the third club of its kind internationally, and the only one in Norway, until Tindegruppa was founded in NTHI in 1959.
In contrast to Den Norske Turistforening , the Tindeklubben is a closed association with a climbing list and climbing recommendation. Gradually, active work was started to promote safety and ethics in climbing, and the association also made an important contribution to various expeditions. The association is also involved in geographic conservation (including Innerdalen 1973) and was instrumental in founding the Norwegian Mountain Museum in 1991.
The association owns the Skagadalshytta (1938), the Vengedalshytta and the Giklingdalshytta. He has published eight books on Norwegian climbing Norsk Fjellsport ( German Norwegian Mountain Sports 1914, 1933, 1948, 1958, 1968, 1983, 1998 and 2008 the anniversary edition) as well as various climbing guides .
The association has been a member of the UIAA since 1965 .
