The North Barrier (English for northern barrier ) is a narrow and rocky mountain ridge on the island of Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It stretches north from Campbell Peak to Mount Separation and then follows the northwest flank of Compton Glacier .
Participants in the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions carried out surveys and descriptive naming in 1948.
