Norunn Tveiten Benestad

Norunn Tveiten Benestad (born November 8, 1956 in Sarpsborg ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative party Høyre . She has been a member of the Storting since 2013 .

Life

After finishing school, she studied Nordic languages, history and social anthropology at the University of Bergen and the University of Oslo from 1976 to 1983 . She then completed a pedagogical seminar and worked as a teacher until 1986. She then began to study market communication, which she did not complete. From 1987, Benestad held various positions as press officer. From 2002 she worked for the publishing house Cappelen Damm , from 2012 as head of the university department. She sat in Kristiansand's local parliament from 2011 to 2014 .

Benestad entered the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2013 general election . There she represents the constituency of Vest-Agder and she was initially a member of the Church, Education and Research Committee. After the 2017 election , she became a member of the local and administrative committee. In 2020 she announced that she did not want to run again for a seat in parliament in the 2021 Storting election.
