The Norway Bight (English for Norway Bay ) is a 6 km wide bay on the south coast of Coronation Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It lies between Meier Point and Mansfield Point .
The name Norway Fjord for this bay appears for the first time on a map based on the measurements of the South Orkney Islands by the Norwegian whaling captain Petter Sørlle (1884–1933) between 1912 and 1913. The name was adapted by participants in the British Discovery Investigations after surveys in 1933.
