The Nova União para Desenvolvimento de Macau ( Portuguese for New Union for the development of Macau , Chinese is澳門發展新連盟) is a political party in the Special Administrative Region of Macau in the People's Republic of China , represented by the general election in 2017 with a deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Macau is represented.
history
In the 2005 general election , the party went to the first time and received 11,642 votes, or 9.32%, which Angela Leong On Kei got a seat in the Legislative Assembly. In the 2009 parliamentary elections , from which the electoral list was no longer Aliança para Desenvolvimento de Macau ( Portuguese for Alliance for the Development of Macau , Chinese澳門 發展 聯盟), but bears its current name, it was able to take its seat with 14,099 votes or 9.94 Defend%. In the 2013 parliamentary election , the electoral list lost a few votes with 13,089 votes and a share of 8.94%, but still retained a seat in the Legislative Assembly. Partly because of the increased number of electoral lists, Angela Leong On Kei only received 10,452 votes in the 2017 parliamentary elections and the proportion of the total number of votes slipped to 6.05%. Yet one mandate was defended.
Alignment
The party is committed to Chinese patriotism and supports the policies of the government of the People's Republic of China, including its interference in Macau politics. Angela Leong On Kei herself, for example, is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese People in Zhuhai City and a member of the Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese People in Jiangxi Province . In addition, the party is also considered to be economically liberal and courteous to the gaming sector. Angela Leong On Kei is the wife of Stanley Ho , who owns the Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau and is one of the most influential people on the Macau gambling scene. By combining Chinese patriotism or loyalty to the Chinese Communist Party with a policy that allows the gambling sector to run free, the Nova União para Desenvolvimento de Macau best corresponds to the characteristics of the representatives of the pro-Beijing camp .
