The Basketball Center of Moscow Region ( Russian Дворец Спорта "Новатор" ; official name: "Баскетбольный центр« Химки »Московской области" , German basketball center Khimki in the Moscow Oblast ) is a multi-purpose hall in the Russian city of Khimki in the Moscow Oblast . The basketball club BK Chimki has played its games in the facility, which was opened in 1970, since 1997.
In September 2005 the new hall was built in the presence of u. a. Boris Gromov , Governor of Moscow Oblast, inaugurated. The complex has a total area of 11,795 m 2 . There are also two sports halls, six changing rooms, a press stand with 45 seats, 4 commentary booths and a VIP area with 164 seats. With the modern lighting technology and a sound system , concerts and shows can also be held. The hall was renovated and expanded for the ULEB Euroleague 2009/10 . Today it corresponds to the requirements of the basketball associations ULEB and FIBA .
The Arena Chimki football stadium with 18,000 seats is right next to the hall . It is currently the sporting home of Dynamo Moscow and CSKA Moscow , whose Dynamo stadium has been under renovation since 2008.
