The Nowosilski Glacier is a 13 km long and 3 km wide glacier on the south coast of South Georgia . It flows in a westerly direction from the southwest slopes of the Salvesen Range to Novosilski Bay .
The glacier was measured and named in the course of a German expedition of the German explorer Ludwig Kohl-Larsen that lasted from 1928 to 1929 . As for the bay of the same name, it is named after Lieutenant Pawel M. Nowosilski, an officer of the Mirny under Captain Michail Lasarew on the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819–1821) under the direction of Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen .
