Nowshera (also Naushahra ) is a town in Pakistan . It is the capital of the Nowshera district of the same name .

Recent history
On March 4, 2011, nine people were killed and more than 30 others were injured in a bomb attack on a mosque during a feeding of the poor after Friday prayers . On May 10, 2011, a police officer and a civilian were killed in an attack on the courthouse using a remote-controlled bomb. On June 5, 2011, another suicide attack took place in Nowshera. A bakery in a district mainly inhabited by military personnel was the target. Eighteen people died and 40 were injured, some seriously.
On February 27, 2012, a motorcycle-mounted bomb killed at least five people at an Awami National Party rally . The head of government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province , Amir Haider Khan Hoti , had left the event shortly before.
