Nudo de Paramillo

Nudo de Paramillo ( Spanish Paramillo knot ) is an inaccessible Colombian mountain region of the Andes in the department of Córdoba on the border with Antioquia .

In the Nudo de Paramillo , the Andes are divided into three foothills that run through Cordoba from south to north. The Río Sinú and the Río San Jorge have their headwaters here. Much of the area is taken up by the Parque Nacional Natural Paramillo .

Coca cultivation

In the Nudo de Paramillo there are growing areas for the coca bush , the starting product of cocaine . The cultivation is controlled by the FARC , with fronts number 5, 18 and 58. The harvest is usually processed into coca paste on site.
