The Catholic Church Nuestra Señora de la Soledad (German Maria Solitude Church ) in Acapulco , the largest city in the Guerrero state in Mexico , is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Acapulco . The church is in Plaza Álvarez.

That of the Mother of God consecrated church was built in the 1950s on the site of an earlier building of the 1900s. Here in the center of Acapulco there was a Catholic parish with a parish church since the second half of the 16th century . After the establishment of the Diocese of Acapulco in 1958, the church was elevated to a cathedral.

The historicist church was built according to plans by the architect Federico Ernesto Mariscal Piña. It has two towers on the west facade, which are crowned with domes . The interior, also vaulted by a dome, is richly decorated with mosaics and azulejos .
