The Nun River is the eastern branch of the Niger River estuary , which forks into the Nun and Forcados rivers in the state of Bayelsa and flows into the Gulf of Guinea . There is a bridge at Kaiama .
The river became known in and outside Nigeria through the poem The Call of the River Nun by poet Gabriel Okara .
