Dieter Möhrmann (born March 6, 1948 in Soltau ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Professional career

After attending secondary school, Möhrmann trained as an industrial clerk and then worked as a commercial clerk. On the second chance he acquired the title of graduate business economist and a diploma commercial teacher . Subsequently, he served as teacher at a business school in Harburg worked.

Political career

In 1971 Dieter Möhrmann joined the SPD. Since 1972 he is a member of the City Council of Schneverdingen . From 1974 to 1991 he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group, from 1991 to 1996 mayor of Schneverdingen. Since 1981 Möhrmann has also been a member of the district council of the Heidekreis district ; he is chairman of the SPD district parliamentary group. From 1991 to 2010 he was also chairman of the SPD district of North Lower Saxony.

Möhrmann was a long-time member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (1982 to 1986 and since 1989). In the state elections in 1994 and 1998 , he won the direct mandate in the Soltau constituency . From 1999 to 2008 he was parliamentary managing director of the SPD state parliament group, from March 2008 to the beginning of 2013 he was vice president of the state parliament of Lower Saxony. In the state elections in 2013 , he did not run for reasons of age and thus renounced his mandate.

Private

Dieter Möhrmann lives in Schneverdingen and is of Evangelical Lutheran faith . He is married and has two children.
