Coordinates: 31 ° 11 ′  S , 118 ° 6 ′  E The Shire of Nungarin is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 1164 km² and has 250 inhabitants (2016).

Nungarin is located in the western Australian "wheat belt" in the center of the state about 230 kilometers northeast of the capital Perth . The headquarters of the Shire Council is located in the village of Nungarin, where about 150 residents live (2016).

The Nungarin Council has seven members. The councilors are elected by the residents of the three wards (three from the Central and two each from the Kwelkan / Danberrin / Elabbin and the Mangowine / Campion / Knungajin Ward).
