The Vattenfall Nederland is a Dutch energy provider in the Swedish Vattenfall Corporation. Vattenfall Nederland emerged from the company nv Nuon , which was split up on June 30, 2009 into the network operator Alliander and Vattenfall Nederland .

In February 2009, the Swedish electricity company Vattenfall Nuon bought for 8.5 billion euros . Vattenfall took over 49% of Nuon on July 1, 2009, with the remaining 51% to follow over the next six years. The Dutch Nuon network company Alliander was not taken over as well as Nuon Germany . Besides Vattenfall, the most important shareholders of Nuon are the Dutch provinces of Gelderland , Friesland and Noord-Holland as well as the municipality of Amsterdam .

Sales Nuon Germany

The former subsidiary Nuon Deutschland GmbH has been active since 2000. On June 23, 2009, the former parent company Nuon and the acquiring Vattenfall declared that, following a decision by the EU competition authority, there would be no takeover of Nuon Germany because Vattenfall was already significantly involved in the German electricity market. On January 22nd, 2010 Nuon announced that Südwestfalen Energie und Wasser AG would take over Nuon Germany; the sale was approved on February 2, 2010 and implemented in the following month retrospectively to January 1, 2010. Since June 15, 2010 the German company has been trading as Lekker Energie .

Nuon solar car

A solar car from the Nuon team won the 3000 km course of the World Solar Challenge 2015 in 33 hours and will also take part in the 2017 race.
