Nura bint Abdullah al-Fayez ( Arabic نورة بنت عبد الله الفايز, DMG Nūra bt. ʿAbd Allaah al-Fāyiz ; * 1956 in Shaqrāʾ ) has been Deputy Minister for Education in Saudi Arabia since February 14, 2009 . Educational institutions for girls are under their responsibility. She is the first woman in the Saudi Arabian government. Her appointment came as part of King Abdullah's reform efforts .

Nura bint Abdullah al-Fayez graduated from King Saud University in Riyadh in 1979 with a degree in sociology . In 1982 she earned a Masters Degree in Education from Utah State University in the United States . Al-Fayez worked for the Saudi Arabian Institute for Public Administration before her appointment as Vice Minister.
