Nutlon

The Nutlon desert is located in a wooded area three kilometers from Dalheim , a district of Lichtenau in the Paderborn district , North Rhine-Westphalia . Today there is a wooden cross on the site of the former location.

history

In the Middle Ages, Nutlon was an important part of the church. The place was first mentioned in a document in the 10th century. The land belonged to the monasteries Bredelar , Corvey and Geseke . In addition, part of the Nutlon settlement belonged to the Bishop of Cologne . Nutlon began to devastate towards the end of the 14th century. The place was first mentioned as a desert in 1416. After that, Nutlon was not taken over by the Dalheim monastery and the nobility like other devastations and settled again with people. So the forest spread over the former areas. Today there is a state forest on the site of the former location .
