The Dutch Nutreco is one of the world's most important producers of animal feed and fish feed . The company is owned by SHV Holdings and employs around 11,000 people in more than 30 countries. The products are sold in around 80 countries. In addition to 120 production facilities, Nutreco operates 8 research laboratories.

The shares were traded on the Euronext stock exchange in Amsterdam from 1997 to 2015 .

Business areas

The company produces a wide range of animal feed. Nutreco is primarily aimed at the nutrition of poultry, pigs, cattle and the feeding of fish in aquaculture .

  • Complementary feed and special feed: Mixtures to ensure various goals such as the supply of trace amounts of vitamins and minerals. In addition, feed, which has a positive effect on digestibility.

  • Skretting is the world's largest producer of salmon feed and has occupied a leading position in other fish feeds. The main markets for Skretting are Norway, Chile, Scotland, Canada and Australia.
  • Hendrix UTD (compound feed) operates in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
  • Nanta (compound feed) is active in the markets in Spain and Portugal.
  • Sada (meat) is based in Spain.
  • Shur-Gain and Landmark Feeds are active in the Canadian and US markets.

history

Nutreco has developed from various family businesses and can therefore look back on more than 100 years of history.

  • 2014: The Dutch investment company SHV Holdings offers 2.7 billion euros for the takeover of Nutreco, and the US agricultural group Cargill has also signaled its interest in a takeover. Nutreco takes over the Brazilian feed manufacturers Fatec (sales equivalent to around 50 million euros) and BRNova (sales around 25 million euros).
  • 2011: Hendrix and PAVO are sold to For Farmers .
  • 2010: Nutreco takes over Tomboy Aquafeed JSC from Vietnam.

  • 2006: Nutreco's stake in Marine Harvest is sold.
  • 1999: Acquisition of the chick manufacturer W. van Erp Holding BV.
  • Takeover of UTD by Nutreco's subsidiary Hendrix.
