Jones Mwewa (born March 12, 1973 in Ndola , † November 18, 2011 in Kitwe ) was a Zambian football player .

Career

The defender played in his active career in Zambia for Strike Rovers from Ndola, the Power Dynamos in Kitwe and Konkola Blades in Chililabombwe . Mwewa was an active player for the Zambian national team from 1995 to 2002 . With the team he won the bronze medal at the 1996 African Cup of Nations in South Africa . After the end of his career in 2004 he started as a youth coach at Power Dynamos and worked in this position until his death. Mwewa died after a short, serious illness in the presence of his family on November 18, 2011 in his house in Miseshi Township in Kitwe.
