Nyra ( Norwegian for kidney ) is an island off the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . It is the largest of the Nyreholmane east of the Publications Ice Shelf in the southeastern part of Prydz Bay .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named them descriptively, mapped them in detail using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 .
