The Nyreholmane ( Norwegian for kidney islands ) are a group of small islands off the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . They are east of the Slettholmane and the Publications Ice Shelf and southeast of the Utskjera in the southeastern part of Prydz Bay .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named them descriptively, mapped them in detail using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 .
