The O'Cain Point is a headland on the east side of Nelson Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 5 km northwest of Duthoit Point .
Seal hunters from Stonington , who were active in the South Shetland Islands from 1820 to 1821, used the designation O'Cain Island for Nelson Island, but this did not prevail. Namesake is the American sealer O'Cain from Boston under Captain Jonothan Winship. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred this designation to the headland described here in 1961.
