The ORAG house on Munich's Oberanger

The ORAG house is an administration building and commercial building in the Angerviertel in Munich's old town .

history

From the second half of the 16th century to the 18th century, the gighanbad was located on the site of the house on Oberanger . On August 13, 1897, the local building commission approved the construction of a new commercial building by Johann Grassel, owner of a building business, and Max Kraus. The four-story Haan Baders house was demolished for this purpose. In 1926 the businessman Arnold Götz bought the building, in 1929 it came into the possession of the tailoring cooperative Orag , which is still based there today. The house was badly damaged in the air raids on Munich. The repair work began in 1945. In 1968, the tunnel tubes of the U3 / U6 were driven under the house . The following year the shops on the ground floor were rebuilt. The Facade Prize of the City of Munich was awarded in 1976 for the renovation of the facade . In 1980 the house was entered in the Bavarian list of monuments.
