OSSI 1 ( Open Source Satellite Initiative ) was a South Korean amateur radio satellite .

The satellite was launched on April 19, 2013 at 10:00 UTC from Baikonur together with the biosatellite Bion-M1 and the five small satellites AIST 2 , Beesat-2 , Beesat-3 , Dove-2 and SOMP with a Soyuz-2.1a - Missile launched. Its COSPAR designation is 2013-015B.

OSSI 1 was a Cubesat of size 1U.

The satellite had a radio beacon in the 2 meter band (145.980 MHz) and AX.25 communication in the 70 centimeter band (437.525 MHz). It should flash the signals sent by radio amateurs to earth with light-emitting diodes in Morse code . Such an experiment has already been carried out with the Japanese satellite FITSAT-1 .
