The Kropfbach , or Klosterbach , is a right tributary of the Haslochbach in the Lower Franconian districts of Miltenberg and Main-Spessart in the Bavarian Spessart .
geography
course
The source of the Kropfbach is actually in a small pond in the Hochspessart between the Querberg ( 567 m above sea level ) and the Hockenhöhe ( 558 m above sea level ). There the brook flows around the mountain Kropfschnabel (550 m) to the southeast. However, this upper course is dry for most of the year.
The stream bed then only carries water again from the ponds at Forsthaus Kropfbrunn. Along the Kropfberg ( 488 m above sea level ), it runs past the Hasenstabkreuz to the Grünau monastery . The Klingenwiesengraben flows into it from there at times. At the Markuskapelle the crop brook flows in from the right Haslochbach .

Hare staff cross
The Hasenstabkreuz (Lage) in the Kropfbachtal made of red sandstone bears the initials JAHst and the year 1773.
There the ore thief Johann Adam Hasenstab was lured into an ambush on June 3, 1773 and shot by the Kurmainzer forester Johann Sator from Bischbrunn .
