OVE is a German indie pop band from Hamburg , which was initially founded under the name Game Ove & die Spielfiguren . The band is named after their singer and guitarist Ove Thomsen.

history

Ove Thomsen 2013

The band members are originally from North Frisia . Thomsen moved to Hamburg in 2008, where he initially performed solo. He founded the band Game Ove & die Spielfiguren , with whom he released the first album Ove, if & but in 2013 . Torpus and Thomsen already played together in the band Torpus & the Art Directors .

In 2016 the band changed its name to OVE. The album I don't want to be so sure , which was recorded in the WattnSound studio in Niebüll , North Frisia , was released in the same year on the Wallpaper Records label . In February 2019 the album Abruzzo was released , also on Wallpaper Records.

On February 27, 2020, OVE will play one last concert in Knust in Hamburg before they take a longer break from the band.
