Obelyskkh is a doom metal band from Fürth , which was founded in 2008.

history

The band was founded in 2008 by guitarist Torsten Trautwein and his friend Wojtek Lodzinski (electric guitar, vocals). A short time later, the drummer Steffen and the bassist David Pscheidt joined the cast. In 2011, the Droehnhaus label released their debut album Mount Nysa , which the band recorded and produced themselves. The publication followed various appearances. The band then switched to Exile on Mainstream Records , through which the albums White Lightnin ' and Hymn to Pan were released in 2012 and 2013 . In 2015 the previous bassist David Pscheidt left the band and they brought Sebastian “F. Duster “Fischer, from the Fürth band, Fairy Duster, as a replacement. On April 21, 2017, the band released their fourth album The Providence with a new line-up . In July 2017 guitarist and founding member Stuart West left the band for personal reasons, which will henceforth work as a trio on new material.

style

According to Thomas Sonder from Metal Hammer, the band play on White Lightnin ' Doom Metal, which also shows influences from Drone Doom and Sludge . According to Wolf-Rüdiger Mühlmann from Rock Hard , the band deals with Aleister Crowley on Hymn to Pan and also deals with William S. Burroughs in the song The Man Within . The title is inspired by the shepherd god Pan .
