Oberbrüden
Oberbrüden is a part of the municipality of Auenwald in the Rems-Murr district . The village is 288 m above sea level. NN.
Between the upper, middle and Unterbrüden of the name before the 15th century is no distinction in the older entries, the first documented mention that clearly refers to Oberbrüden, dated to the year 1528 when the Oberbrüden Württemberg Unteramt Ebersberg belonged to the again belonged to the office, later Oberamt Backnang .
Older mentions, which cannot be clearly localized to one of the three locations, date from around 1100, when the Hirsau Monastery received a farm in Brüden as a donation, on April 11, 1245 for the first time in a document from Pope Innocent IV in the the Abbey of Backnang possession of goods in Brüden and Rottmansberg is confirmed and in 1426 in connection with the naming of the Lords of Urbach .
At the time the municipality was dissolved, the village of Oberbrüden, the hamlets of Heslachhof, Mittelbrüden, Rottmannsberg, Tiefental, Trailhof, Trailhöfle and Utzenhof and the Schmollenmühle residential area belonged to the municipality of Oberbrüden. The community with an area of 10.08 km² merged with Lippoldsweiler and Unterbrüden on July 1, 1971 to form the new community of Auenwald.
